Never too far.

This is just too cool.

My son Tim lives in Arizona, as do my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Sarah. They do not live very close to each other, a couple of hundred miles apart. You can get a map if you need a visual, but suffice it to say this was a long shot.

My brother in law lives near a town called Show Low. My son lives in Prescott Valley, and works in construction. He was recently assigned to the Grand Canyon area, then later unbeknownst to me transferred to, of all places, Show Low. So I was quite surprised when he sent me a note yesterday telling me he ran into Jack Ryan in the Show Low Safeway! What are the odds of that?

The neat thing here is that Jack and Sarah's kids Nick and Casey are here with me in Virginia. I feel like my son is a world away, and Jack and Sarah feel the same without their kids there with them. In truth, we are all closer than we realize. The world truly is small, and sends great messages sometimes.
